Tanya is a family law lawyer who was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1995. Tanya initially practised a criminal defence lawyer but after 10 years, she began practising as a family law lawyer. She is a Collaborative Lawyer, Family Law Mediator and Arbitrator, Parenting Coordinator and she prepares Hear the Child Reports. In 2021 she was elected as a Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia for the County of Vancouver. She currently sits on the Practice Standards and Access to Justice Committees.

Although Tanya has appeared at every level of court, her family law practice is focussed primarily on consensual dispute resolution because she believes that such processes are practical, cost effective, are in the children’s best interests and reflect the values of the Family Law Act.

Tanya is a member of the Health and Justice Alliance Steering Committee, a Board Member of the British Columbia Collaborative Roster Society and a co-chair of the Pro Bono Collaborative Committee. Tanya is a Past President of BC Sailing.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Tanya is the mother of two adult sons. She loves skiing, sailing and spending as much time as possible with her family, friends and many dogs.
