Erica works in the area of insurance defence litigation. She provides a supportive role in all aspects of the management and organization of files from the time the file is opened to trial or settlement. Specifically, preparing pleadings, list of documents, determining privilege and relevance of documents, chambers applications, and communications with adjusters, defendants, witnesses, opposing counsel, co-counsel and third parties. In addition, Erica assists on files by analyzing liability, medical, economic loss records and special damages, instructing experts in order to obtain medical opinions, instructing private investigators or independent adjusters, preparing files for discovery, mediation and trial, making recommendations with respect to experts required and assisting with document production.

Erica joined the insurance defence team at Virgin Law Group in March of 2015. She worked for 5 years in intellectual property law until 2010 before transitioning to personal injury and insurance defence litigation. Her experience with intellectual property law included US and Canadian trademark prosecution and maintaining trademark opposition files.
