Hardip S. Samra is a senior paralegal. He has considerable experience in handling property damage insurance claims, personal injury claims (both on behalf of injured parties and in defending such claims). Hardip mostly works on high complexity files involving contentious liability matters comprising of multiple parties, and issues relating to brain injuries, post traumatic stress disorder, other cognitive deficits, multiple fractures, fraud, bad faith claims, complicated economic loss claims, and under-insured motorist protection claims. He is highly skilled in instructing investigators and experts on intricate issues. As a paralegal he has served two major provincial crown corporation insurers, a private insurer and a union.
Hardip joined Virgin Hickman in 2006. He works with the principal, Mark V.C. Virgin, managing a fast paced practice comprised of files involving multiple complex issues. He plays an active role in strategizing and implementing recommendations. He strives to achieve phenomenal results for clients.
Previously, Hardip served at the federal Department of Justice where he worked on matters of public interest, including the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, and Bill C-38 regarding same-sex marriages. He participated on committees reporting directly to the Minister of Justice and to the deputy minister. He has worked for firms focussing on construction law, employment and labour law. Before entering the legal field, Hardip was an investigative journalist and managing editor for a community newspaper. Hardip continues to be an active member of the Indo-Canadian community.
Hardip is multilingual. He speaks English, Punjabi and Hindi.
